Anthony Edwards has four-word message after third straight loss vs. Nuggets

Following the Minnesota Timberwolves' Game 2 road win in the Western Conference semifinals against the Denver Nuggets, Anthony Edwards and company held a comfortable 2-0 series lead.

Fast forward nine days later to Minnesota's 112-97 loss vs. the defending champions and the Timberwolves have now lost three in a row and are one defeat away from being eliminated.

After Tuesday night's Game 5 loss against Denver, Edwards reminded a Nuggets employee of an interaction they had following Minnesota's Game 2 victory. Despite now trailing in the series, Edwards had a confident four-word message for that employee.

The two-time All-Star shooting guard finished Tuesday's game just 5-for-15 (1-for 8 in the first half) for 18 points with nine assists and four turnovers.

Edwards had averaged 33.3 points with a staggering 60.4% field goal percentage through the first four contests, including a 44-point showing in Game 4 on 16-for-25 (5-for-8 on three-pointers).

With point guard Mike Conley missing Game 5 due to a right Achilles injury, Denver was able to "blanket (Edwards) with extra attention and multiple defenders all game," according to a report by ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch said following Wednesday's loss that the team was "hopeful" that Conley would be able to play in Thursday night's Game 6, per McMenamin.
